Italy is the third biggest mobile market in Western Europe, and Italians love there mobile phones. There are almost 50 million unique users with more than 30 million smartphones and almost 10 million tablets. The volume of data traffic (+ 50 % growth rate in a year) and mobile services (especially entertainment) continue to grow.
All operators have adopted the strategy of developing new revenue streams in advanced 4G data and other value added services to offset the decline of the traditional voice and SMS market. There are clear opportunities for example advanced gaming, Internet TV, video and other mobile entertainment companies as well as for mobile analytics, customer experience and big data companies.
